Setup Guide
How to install your Taiwan eSIM
Installing an eSIM takes about two minutes. Follow the steps for your device below — you'll need the QR code from your delivery email and a Wi-Fi connection.
iOS (iPhone)
- 1Make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi before you begin.
- 2Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data).
- 3Tap "Add eSIM" (or "Add Cellular Plan").
- 4Choose "Use QR Code" and scan the code from your delivery email.
- 5Confirm the plan label, then tap "Add Cellular Plan".
- 6Under Cellular, set your new eSIM as the Data line, and keep your home SIM for calls/SMS.
Android
- 1Make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi before you begin.
- 2Open Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs.
- 3Tap "Add SIM" or "Download a SIM instead".
- 4Choose "Scan QR code from carrier" and scan the code from your delivery email.
- 5Confirm the details and tap "Add" / "Continue".
- 6In SIM settings, turn on Mobile Data for your new eSIM and select it as your default for Data.
Exact menu names vary slightly by manufacturer (Samsung, Pixel, etc.), but the flow is the same.
Troubleshooting
"Cellular plan not supported" error?
This usually means your device is carrier-locked. Contact your carrier to request an unlock before your trip.
No internet after installing?
Go to your eSIM's settings and make sure Data Roaming / Mobile Data is enabled for that specific line, and that it's set as your Data line.
QR code won't scan?
Use the manual SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code from your email instead — look for "Enter Details Manually" in the Add eSIM flow.
